I created my first
website in 1997 using a book explaining the basics of HTML code. I remember telling
my husband that HTML was like algebra - you plug in the code for what you want, where you
want and viola! A website is born. In 1998, I graduated to Microsoft
FrontPage and have been using it since. I have taken brief side trips using
Dreamweaver and Publisher, but have always returned to FrontPage for some reason. I'm
comfortable with it and I continually learn new things I can accomplish with it.
My primary occupation since 1998 has been
innkeeping. In 1999, I completely redesigned the website for Stone Mountain Village,
Georgia. This was the first site I designed that wasn't a personal site. With
the opening in 2004 of our current inn, I had the opportunity to design and produce
everything for the business myself - website, brochure, business cards, post cards, phone
cards, etc. It wasn't long until I had others asking for my design services in
their own businesses.
I have just completed a complete redesign of the Willits Chamber
of Commerce website and am working on several smaller projects.
My own inn's website undergoes constant redesign and I enjoy learning more and more about
website design.
I am the wife of Earl and mother of 3 year old Alyssa Brooke.
We live in Northern California where we own and operate Beside
Still Waters Farm Bed & Breakfast. I am working on my first
book - a guidebook of child-friendly inns in America.
If you're looking to give your business an online
identity, refresh an old website, or design new marketing materials, I'd love to be of
assistance. |
